WMS Family Message 05-24-2026
This week marks our last week of the school year. Below are this week’s activities, including milestone events for our 8th graders:
- 8th Grade Awards: Tuesday, May 26 starting at 3:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. Families of students receiving awards will be directly invited. Others are welcome to attend.
- 8th Grade Trip to DC: On Wednesday May 27 our 8th graders will have the opportunity to explore the capital! 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
- 8th Grade Walkthrough Celebration: Thursday, May 28 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Friday, May 29 is our final day of school and will be a half day with dismissal at 1:05 p.m.. To celebrate, we are hosting a Field Day!
- Inflatables: Provided courtesy of our amazing PTO.
- Kona Ice: Every student and staff member will receive a free Kona Ice treat!
- Concessions: Additional snacks will be available for purchase for between $1-$2.

Summer Reading List from WMS Library
Check out the recommendations from the WMS library for summer reading suggestions. While our library is not open for checkout in the summer, the local libraries carry these books or can order them for you. Keep that reading up this summer, Wildcats!
Yearbooks on sale via Cash and Check through May 29 (while supplies last)
Yearbooks are currently on sale and can be purchased via Cash or Check (made to Walton Middle School) for $20 to be given to Ms. Wood in the Main Office
Albemarle Summer Basketball Camp
Registration is open for the Albemarle Basketball Camp (Session I: June 1–2; Session II: June 3–4) for rising 3rd–9th graders. It’s a great way to build skills with AHS coaches and players. Click link above for more information.
